SawGrass 2010

We went to SawGrass again in the beginning of October.  It was very low key with all of the prego ladies.  We spent the weekend hanging out and watching football.  The boys went out looking for hogs.... all they got was an amadillo.

Look for the Joy in Life

There is good in life everyday. Take a few minutes everyday to distract yourself from your concerns - long enough to draw strength from a tree or to find pleasure in a bird's song. Return a smile; realize that life is a series of levels, cycles of ups and downs - some easy, some challenging. Through it all, we learn, we grow strong in faith, and we mature in understanding. The difficult times are often the best teachers, and there is good to be found in all situations. Reach for the good, and find joy in life.

Pittsburgh Baby Shower

Last Thursday Paul and I were up bright and early to head to Pittsburgh for a Baby Shower. It was a long drive but nice to spend the time together. Once we got to Wild and Wonderful West Virginia we were talking about the bridge that they close once a year so that people can BASE jump/bungee jumping off of. We were hoping that it was not going to be this weekend and us have to take a detour. It was not this weekend! When we got to the bridge it was a perfect bathroom break point and get out and stretch our legs. The total trip to Pittsburgh took us 13 hours... that is l o n g. We hit some minor rush hour traffic, construction, and the New River Gorge. At New River Gorge we took the 200 feet hike down and then back up. When we got back to the top I told Paul "I need a cookie".
Hanging at home with the family. After an awesome dinner at Outback, Nathan was taking a rest on the drive home and his head was leaning against my belly and the baby was kicking him... ha ha. That entertained me just a little. Before leaving for dinner as my dad was pulling out the car he ran over a nail and the tire was leaking. So Paul and my dad dropped off the tire to be repaired while we ate and then got to put it back on once we got back from dinner. Never a dull moment at the Suwalski house!

Saturday we headed to my aunts house for the shower. Baby Hearn was spoiled and we are so blessed by all of the wonderful gifts that we received. And to see some family and friends that we have not seen in a while was a wonderful surprise. I was surprised to see Serena and Michaela at the shower, but it was a wonderful surprise. (More about them in another post... Just for you Serena.)
We received so many wonderful gifts! We are now prepared for football season! Baby Hearn's wonderful aunts, uncles, Grammy and Popski gave us a toy box FILLED with all kinds of goodies... including just about everything that we are going to need for Auburn Saturday's and Steeler Sunday's.
Middle picture: Me, Hilary, and Linda 2 of my 3 hostesses. Aimee was another hostess but could not make it home. We missed you Aimee but are looking forward to seeing you in December!

While the shower was going on a few of the guys were in the basement watching the Alabama Game on the BIG screen. After the game was over we headed home to watch the Auburn game and then get ready for a long drive home.

Our drive home took 12 hours.... man that was looooonnnnggg. Just wait till we do it with a baby. Good thing we took the truck home because we brought back so many wonderful gifts. Now finding a place for everything is going to be the hard part..... bring on the bigger house.

Thank you to everyone for showering Baby Hearn with such wonderful gifts. We love you and appreciate you all.

The final piece

of furniture that is.

With doing a Nursery/Office combo we had been looking for that right piece of furniture. We went to the Alabama Furniture Market and a few other places but just could find what we wanted. Paul called a few months ago and said he found something on the internet for me to check out. As soon as I saw it, it was exactly what I had in mind. I ordered the computer chest in August and they said it would arrive in a month. Really a month! Oh OK.

On September 2nd it had arrived! I was so excited to see it and get it all put together (actually Paul put together) and get everything in its place. Well it it took longer than expected. We had to order a few replacement parts for a few damaged pieces.... and they finally arrived. Paul had some time off and finished putting it together and putting everything in its place.

I love the new computer desk but not sure if I'm sold on the set up of the nursery/office. Oh well we are moving in the right direction and I always reserve the right to move it another place in the house.
