Visit to see Mimi

So we FINALLY went to visit Aimee in Ft. Myers last Friday.  We left our house at 4am to drive to ATL to take Delta.  The drive went very well and Reagan slept almost the entire time.  We got to Aimee's around 11:00.  She dropped us off at her place and went back to work.  Reagan and I took a nap :) and then went to Target and Walgreen's.  Aimee came home and we were waiting on Hilary to arrive.

 It was a great low key weekend.  

Saturday we hung out, went out to lunch, went shopping, and hung out some more.  Reagan had a good time hanging out with Aimee and Hilary.

Sunday included more hanging out and then cleaning up the mess we caused at Aimee's, packing and driving.  Reagan and I flew out of TPA because the flights looked better and it was only one flight for us to take.  We flew home Southwest.  Uggg I don't really like flying them.  But they had seats so that's what we took.  Hilary drove us to TPA.  It was like old times when she would pick me up in JAX and we would drive to Hilton Head, only this time we had Reagan with us.


I look forward to another Girls Weekend next year.  Wonder if there will be any additions to the weekend?

When we got back to BHM, Paul came to get it.  It was such a nice change for him to get US and US not be getting him.  But we were diffidently happy to see him.

10 Months Old

Reagan is 10 months old!  

WOW in a blink of an eye she will be one!  

Where had the time gone?

We love watching her grow and see her personality blossom.

Earlier this week she went to the doctors to make sure she didn't have hand, foot, and mouth disease (it was going around school and I did not want us to get it).  Reagan weighed in at 22 pounds.

Reagan's 10 month birthday was spent in Ft. Myers with Aimee and Hilary for Girls Weekend.

Reagan is a great eater.  She doesnt like to always eat baby food.  So we are trying some other things.  Its kinda tough when she has no teeth, but she does just fine with trying some other things,  She loves cut up carrots, fruit, pizza crust, and yogurt,,, just to name a few.  And LOVES broccoli, carrots and cheese baby food.  Who knew.  We are going to try broccoli "trees" and see how she likes them not purred.

Road Trip

for the past two weekends we have been going to atl to get paul.  last saturday we left at 9 and got back and 1 am.  yesterday we left around 3 and got back at 730.  had to stop in anniston to feed reagan she was not going to wait.  so these signs have all become very familiar to me.

i think i could do this drive in my sleep. (but im not going to try).  hopefully these trips to atl will get reagan ready for longer road trips that we have planned.... fingers crossed.

For Reagan tuning 10 months we decided to get her ears pierced.  We talked about it for a while and finally did it.  They are so cute.  We got her birthstone.  She doesn't even realize they are there.  I had read that if you wait too long then they will pull at them.  So what better time than now to get them done.

Paul wanted to be the one to hold her so that she wouldn't be mad at him.  

She would be mad at me. 

Ha ha she still loves me and wanted me to hold her after.

She was not happy when they were first done but then she got a sucker and life was ALL good after that.

Head, shoulders, knees, and toes

As you can see Reagan has a new addition to her wardrobe.  She is sporting a pink helmet.  It is to help shape her head.  Its common with premies because when they are born their bones are very soft.  And when they are in the NICU they are always laying the same way.  So with that being said a few months ago I realized that Reagan would only really look one way and the back of her head was getting a little flat.  We tried turning her and getting her to sleep different directions.  It worked a little but I could still see it.  We went to go see the head specialist and this is what we got.  A cranial band to help shape her head a little bit.  Reagan does not mind it at all.  We have even jazzed it up a little bit and put a bow on it.  We go back every few weeks to check out progress and we will see how long she has to wear it.

We have gotten some looks about it, people have said "Oh I need to get one for my baby, he falls all the time", and even from one person "I'm glad we never had to do that". WOW did you just hear what you said.   People are not used to seeing things like this because it is not "normal" in some peoples eyes.  But I dont let it bother me.  Yes I say me, because Reagan cant really understand what they are saying.  Its not like she is going to be in this forever.   

Back to School

So we are back to school!  We started on Aug 9th.  Reagan and I are only going on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.  

And Monday and Friday if I am a sub.

  

This schedule is working out great, it gives us time together and time to travel. 

I am a slacker and didnt get a picture of Reagan on the first day of school.  I will post a better one later when our room calms down.  This picture is pretty funny because when a baby is crying this is how Reagan will look at them.  She was even laughing at one the other day and has not started to grunt (it thats what you want to call it) at kids that cry.  Its actually pretty funny.
