From one island to another we go. 

After talking to Aimee one day it just kinda happened that we planned a trip to Honolulu for a week.  Two adults with 3 kiddos... oh yeah.  Paul went over with us to help on the plane and he had to check us into the hotel.  We got to the Guam airport bright and early, got checked in, through security, got breakfast, and waited to be called for our seats.  Going into it all I knew I wanted Reagan to be in her car seat. She traveled well over to Guam in it, and I knew that she would be good again.  The car seats are big and annoying to carry but well worth the hassle.  I will forever travel with car seats.  OK so  back to the trip.  This was Hunter's first flight and he did great.  Before we went both Reagan and Hunter had ear infections. Really... But they both did great!  True travelers!  We were on a 777 and had the middle section with all 5 seats.  It was nice to have some room and everyone be in their own seats.  Yes Hunter can sit on a lap, but I did not want to have to hold him for 7 hours and he is happy when he can have some of his own space.

 First night out to dinner in Honolulu

Our first night hotel stay. With the date change and flights we left a day early and had to stay at a different hotel than the one that we were staying at for the week.  It was a cute "boutique" hotel.  At 1am the room was so bright from lights outside.  Not really where you want to spend a week. But cute and fun for a night with kids.

Packing up all of our stuff... Yes we had 2 adults, 2 kids, 2 car seats, 3 suitcases, a stroller and a pack and play.  We moved it all ourselves.  We are that good!  I really have to try and prefect my packing skills and see if I can get 3 people packed in a roll-aboard for a week. We will see.  Or it might be time to buy a bigger bag that will be checked.  

After going and checking in at the hotel, we got breakfast and walked around.  Checked out the Duke Statue.  And the beach.  Wow the water was freezing!! So much colder than the water in Guam. On the first floor of the hotel there were two birds, Reagan loved to go see them.  The sign said that they would talk but they didn't talk for us.  

Reagan and Hunter's first time in the Pacific Ocean.  While at the beach the hotel called to say our room was ready.  

After having naps... Mimi and Hadley arrived!!! It was dinner time when they arrived so we loaded up the strollers and went looking for something to eat and watch the sun set.  

Every one was tired and it was time to get ready for bed. Paul was leaving in the morning and we had a busy day ahead of us. 

Such a true girl!  Reagan was so funny.  Laying out.  It was a beautiful day to hang out at the pool.  Hunter had enough and decided to take a nap.  The towel boys were waking around with freeze pops and they were a nice treat.  

The Honolulu Zoo was our next day adventure.  It was so awesome. We don't have a zoo on Guam so I was pretty excited to check it out.

  

Reagan really seemed to enjoy the zoo. There were so many animals to see.  The only animals not out were the lions. But we heard them roaring.  And that was pretty cool.  A list of other zoos... might have to try Peking Zoo?!?!  Aimee dressed Reagan so she is like a total mini me.  Reagan really enjoyed seeing Aunt Mimi and Hadie.  

We went over to see the gorillas. Violet put the basket on her head and was walking around.  Rusti came to the window to check us out.  Reagan was not a fan of Rusti coming so close.  

The elephants were pretty cool too.  Reagan enjoyed watching them eat.  Hadley and Hunter also enjoyed the zoo but were not as excited about it as Reagan was. :)

Super cool the giraffes and zebras.  After walking around the zoo we grabbed lunch and let Reagan play on the playground.  There were so many kids there, but she had a blast running around and sliding.

On the way back to the hotel all the kiddos fell asleep.  Hunter and Hadley were the first to get up from napping.  Hadley playing with Hunters giraffe lovie.  They were too cute together. 

After naps we walked over to the beach.  A big wave came up and hit Aimee and Hadley.. Hadley was not too happy about that.  But who would be the water was cold... brrr.  The same wave that got Hadley also got Reagan... there were tears all around. And laughs from the big people.

Of course there was some shopping.  Reagan would pull something off the rack hold it up and ask "you like?" "so pretty".  Aimee loved it and truly has created a monster.  

Off the the Aquarium... the aquarium was very different than the Guam one. I think I like the Guam one a little better.  But it was cool they had some fish on display outside.  

 

Such a sweet girl.  Reagan and Hadley loved looking at all the fish.  Hunter slept almost the whole time.  When we went outside there were some kids playing tag and Reagan went and joined in. 

Later that day we took the trolley to the Ala Moana Mall for dinner.  Every time we went to dinner I said to Aimee we were like a circus act.  2 ladies with 3 kids and 2 big strollers.  What an adventure it was.  

Another day at the pool. Reagan wanted to be like Hadley and have a float also.  The pool water was very chilly, but we still had fun swimming.  Proof that Hunter was actually there...

For dinner we went to Duke's.  It is right on the ocean and the food was pretty good. Reagan and Hadley got leis.  Surprisingly they enjoyed wearing them.  Hadley kept flirting with the guys at the next table. 

The weather was kinda yuck so we decided to rest a car and drive around the island.  After driving Guam, Oahu is a HUGE island.  We were going to go to North Shore but it was going to be 2 hours one way to get there.  REALLY 2 hours?!?!?! It takes 2 hours to drive Guam and that includes making stops.  But we did drive to Sea Life Park.  It is the park that is in 50 First Dates.  We planned on buying ponchos and checking it out.  We saw part of the dolphin show then realized it was not going to work out.  Next time we go back to Honolulu we will defiantly be going there. 

Loaded down.  Driving on Oahu is so different than Guam.  On Guam we don't drive faster than 35 mph (which is good for me).  So while driving it was so weird to get driving so fast.  Guess just getting a warm up for driving in the states this summer.  

Later Sunday Paul flew in and we headed out to dinner.  Monday we went to the beach in the morning and took a boat ride.  It was only a hour long.  During the trip we saw a sea turtle.  All of the kids took a nap and we enjoyed the view and wind in our hair.

  

Once we were off the boat we went back over to the hotel to hang out at the pool before nap time.  Reagan and Hadley were floating in their rafts.  Reagan grabbed Hadley's raft and dragged her to the deep end with Paul was with Hunter.  It was so cute.  Her and Hadley were just laughing.  Then they turned around and went back to the shallow end. 

 Its such a hard life.  For dinner we went back to Duke's and enjoyed the patio seating.  After dinner we were walking along the road and picking up some last minute souvenirs and taking in the entertainment. 

Aimee decided to get suckered into a tourist trap and holding the birds.  Ad then she wanted a tiki with their name cut into it.

Another stop was to see boo boo the guinea pig that would do tricks and the guy who made giant bubbles.  Who doesn't love bubbles?!?! We could of stayed there for hours watching this guy.  

Eventually it was time to go.  We had a busy day and tomorrow was going home day. :(  Our shuttle was at 11am so there was not much going on before we left.  Family picture in front of the waterfall.  We said our goodbyes to Oscar and Mauii the birds and waited for our ride.  We were sad to leave Aunt Mimi and Hadley.  They had a few more hours before their shuttle and went to the pool to hang out. 

We arrived the airport got checked in, through security, got lunch, and waited to board the plane and take on the adventure of our flight home.  It went well.  Reagan didn't sleep much so by the time we were almost to Guam she was ready to be off the plane and go to sleep.

We are looking forward to our next travel adventure. It will be a LOOONG trip to the states but we are looking forward to it.  I am already getting my bag of tricks ready. :) One day I will do a post about how I pack and all of my tricks to keep a toddler happy on a flight.
