Baltimore or Bust

The weekend of May 28th, we went to Baltimore with The Woodward's and The Cosby's. Rachel and Jared flew in earlier on Thursday, Paul came in later that day, and Shaun, Ashley, and I came in late that night only after we were delayed in Birmingham for awhile. I was doing my best to show Ashley some patience with waiting for our delayed flight. We finally arrived in BWI later that night, better late than never. Once the others picked us up the fun weekend was ready to begin.

As the boys (dressed and ready to go) were waiting on us girl to be ready we were still asking each other, "What should I wear? What are you wearing? Does this look OK?"

After we were finally dressed we were ready to go. Poor Jared having to drive all of the crazy people around he was a Saint. We took the Metro into D.C. and the caught a train to the Pentagon stop. We so lucked out with our timing on the trip. At the Pentagon we were getting ready to go through security and a HUGE school group was walking up behind us. Too bad we did get stuck with one of the annoying school kids in our group for the tour. The Pentagon was very strict about pictures and you were allowed to only take pictures in the waiting area.

The guys did a great job with getting us around the train. Ashley asked why people were always staring at us and I had to laugh but at that moment she looked just like Kate Gosselin. After the Pentagon tour we were back to the train to make our way to grab a quick bite to eat and then to our tour at the Capitol Building. Rachel's friend Emily got us all of our tours and was our personal tour guide at the Capital and took us on the tram for the Senator's to use to get from there building to the Capitol. Our appointment at the Capitol was at 3:15 as we were on our way there it started to rain like crazy. We took refuge under a bus stop shelter. At the bus shelter Shaun stepped up with the pretty green umbrella to try and get us a cab so we wouldn't miss your appointment. A guy was standing there and offered garbage bags to us.

After the Capitol tour we headed towards Union Station to head to China Town for dinner. We ran into Obama along the way and stopped to get a picture with him. Man he was the coolest. Rachel called to get us a reservation and the guy said if you can be here in 15 minutes.... and what do you know we actually made it.

After dinner we stopped at an Irish Pub to listen to some Irish music but they had a DJ that night. So it was time to head back to the Bay house.

Check out Ashley's and Rachel's here and here from our trip.
